The sunroute Story

Built for the drive. Not the destination.

The sunroute Story

It started with a Sunday and nowhere particular to be.

Not a road trip with a plan. Not a commute with a podcast. Just a clear afternoon, a road that kept going somewhere worth following, and the realisation afterwards that you had no idea how to tell someone else where to find it.

That’s what sunroute was built to fix.

We wanted a place where those roads could actually be found. Where the coastal stretch you stumbled onto at dusk didn’t disappear when you got home, and where the route your mate swears by could be on a map for everyone who’d love it just as much.

So we built it. A community for drivers who think the route matters, not just the arrival. Built around cars, because that’s the biggest gap in what already exists. But built for anyone who drives for the love of it, whether that’s on two wheels, four, or something a bit more capable on gravel.

What we believe

  • The drive is the point. Getting there is fine. The road getting there is better.
  • Community over curation. Every route on sunroute was submitted by someone who drove it, loved it, and wanted others to find it too.
  • Any vehicle. Any driver. Cars are where we started. But if you ride or you four-wheel, you’re as welcome as anyone. The filters change. The feeling doesn’t.
  • Slow down. The world has enough apps telling you to hurry up. sunroute is not one of them.

Come find your road.
